When I was in Paris I came across several Fromageries displaying heart-shaped brie cheese. Are the French routinely more romantic or so in love with cheese that they mold it into the symbolic shape of love? Or are the heart-shaped bloomy packages for the tourists who picnic on the lawn of the Eiffel Tower? I'm not sure, but I do have to say that I am enchanted by brie cheese (for those who know me this comes as no surprise) and even more enamored with heart-shared brie. It may not be French brie, but Old Chatham Hudson Valley makes a lovely heart-shaped camembert that's available here in the USA (I have seen it at several store in NYC and online from
Freshdirect). Serve it to your Valentine or add it to a cheese board any time of year to inspire some romance.
