DIY :: Homemade Holiday Gift {Pumpkin Dog Treats Recipe + Free Printable}
Who says cookies are just for humans? Make a baked holiday treat for your fine furry friends this holiday season to let them know just how much you love them. My daughter and I made these Pumpkin Dog Treats for all the doggies in our building. While I can say that they are bland for those of us who walk on two legs, they are a yummy and healthy treat for the four legged breeds.
Make them using a dog bone cookie cutter, as we did (they are hard to find in stores in NYC - we searched just about every pet store in Manhattan and several baking stores without success - apparently not many people make their own dog treats - so we ended up ordering ours online from Amazon). You can also use holiday theme cookie cutters to make these doggie treats.
Wrap the pumpkin dog treats in cello bags and print cute labels with doggie paw prints so there is no mistaking who the cookies are made for. We chose the orange and black colors because of the pumpkin flavor. A free downloadable PDF printable of these Pumpkin Dog Treats Labels is available by clicking on the hotlink. You will need to use Avery Print-to-the-Edge Arched Labels for this template (Avery Template 22809).
