Friday Find :: Eat Your Books {A Search Engine For Your Cookbooks}

Eat Your Books - a search engine for your cookbooks | www.StylishSpoon.comI love cozying up on the couch with a cup of tea (or wine) and some of my cookbooks to search for recipes and inspiration. Sometimes I don't have the time and/or energy and just want a fast and dirty list of ideas for using a particular ingredient, like beet greens (which I currently have in my fridge leftover after roasting the beet roots). Eat Your Books is an awesome online resource for searching all of the recipes in your cookbooks, magazines and even some of your favorite blogs (Note: not available for the Hip Hostess Blog yet, but hopefully soon - fingers crossed!). Here's how it works: Enter your cookbooks (up to 5 for free - more than that requires a subscription of $2.50/ month or $25/ year). You tell the site which books you own and it will provide a searchable index of all the recipes, providing the book titles and all the ingredients needed. All you need to do is look up the recipe in your own copy of the book. Eat Your Books is a great resource and is one of those sites that makes you wonder how you lived without it for so long.
