Kids Party :: Beach Theme Pool Party
I know summer was officially over yesterday, but my friend Zuzu threw a super cute beach theme pool party for her son Crosby's 1st birthday, and I want to share the details so they're up for those planning a pool or beach theme kids party next summer.
I helped Zuzu brainstorm some of the ideas for the party, and designed the beach ball labels for the food (hotlink will be added for the free printable beach ball pool party labels), but Zuzu executed this great party all on her own with some help from Auntie Amy, who made the amazing fondant pool buoy drink straws and beach bucket party favors.
The party was in LA on a quintessential sunny California day. A pool party isn't exactly the norm for us urban apartment dwellers, which may be why I am particularly enamored with this theme! Details from this beach theme pool party are below.
Pool Toys invite from Paperless Post (with the optional beach ball theme liner, not shown).
A pool and beach theme menu and snacks (including Pirate's Booty, goldfish) in plastic beach buckets with shovels for serving.
Pool theme drinks - including "pool water!"
Mason jar glasses with stripey straws and handmade red and white fondant ring buoys.
Lots of different beach and pool theme cupcakes - flip flops, ring buoys, starfish, shells, shark fins with graham cracker crumb "sand" and mini drink umbrellas by Donna Liu of Delicious Arts in downtown LA.
SPF on hand to protect the little ones from the hot Cali sun.
Personalized beach bucket party favors (buckets from Party City, filled with plastic sunnies, pinwheels, a blow up beach ball, and a punch balloon.
And finally, a cute welcome sign at the front door.
